Pack oral reالترطيب salts, pain relievers, blister plasters, antiseptic supplies, unscented واقي الشمس, anti-diarrhea الأدوية, face masks, hand sanitizer, and all prescription الأدويةs with copies of prescriptions.
A well-prepared الإسعافات الأولية kit is essential for الحج, where you will face extreme الحرارة, extensive walking, and crowded conditions with limited immediate access to pharmacies. Your kit should include core الأدويةs: paracetamol (acetaminophen) and ibuprofen for pain and fever, oral reالترطيب salts (at least 10 sachets — these are critical for deالترطيب), anti-diarrhea الأدوية (loperamide), antacids, antihistamines for allergies, throat lozenges, and cough suppressants. If you take prescription الأدويةs, bring at least double your expected supply in original packaging with a copy of the prescription.
For wound care and skin protection, pack adhesive bandages in multiple sizes, blister plasters (Compeed or similar hydrocolloid type — blisters are almost inevitable), sterile gauze pads, medical tape, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic cream, petroleum jelly or anti-chafing balm for thigh and underarm friction, unscented واقي الشمس SPF 50+ (scented products are not permitted during الإحرام), and lip balm with SPF. A small pair of scissors and tweezers is also useful.
Additional essentials include a digital thermometer, surgical face masks (N95 if possible — respiratory infections spread easily in crowds), alcohol-based hand sanitizer, electrolyte tablets or powder, eye drops for dust irritation, nasal saline spray, insect repellent, and a small cold pack that can be activated without refrigeration. Keep everything in a compact, waterproof pouch that fits easily in your day bag. Label all الأدويةs clearly in English and Arabic, and carry a medical card listing your blood type, allergies, chronic conditions, and الطوارئ contacts.
