الحج Mabroor means a righteous, accepted الحج — performed with sincerity, halal funds, proper ritual observance, and avoidance of sin, with its only reward being Paradise.
الحج Mabroor (حج مبرور) comes from the Arabic root 'birr' meaning righteousness and goodness. It refers to a الحج that is sincerely performed, properly executed, and accepted by Allah. النبي Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: 'An accepted الحج (الحج Mabroor) has no reward except Paradise' (agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim), highlighting its immense spiritual أهمية.
Scholars identify several conditions for الحج Mabroor: the intention must be purely for Allah's sake (ikhlas), the money used must be from halal (lawful) earnings, the الحاج must avoid obscenity, sinful speech, and quarreling during الحج, all rituals must be performed correctly following the السنة, and the الحاج should return home in a better spiritual state than they departed. الإمام النووي noted that الحج Mabroor is one that has no sin mixed into it, while Imam al-Hasan al-Basri said it is recognized by the الحاج returning ascetic toward this world and desirous of the Hereafter.
