Masjid al-القبلةtayn: The المسجد of Two القبلةs Masjid al-القبلةtayn marks where القرآنic revelation changed the الصلاة direction from Jerusalem to مكة, making it historically significant.
Masjid al-القبلةtayn is one of the most historically significant مسجدs in المدينة. It is traditionally identified as the location where القرآنic revelation commanding the change of the القبلة from Jerusalem to the الكعبة was received during a congregational الصلاة. The relevant verse states: 'Turn your face towards the Sacred المسجد.'
The مسجد is يقع في the northwestern part of المدينة, about 4 kilometers from النبي's المسجد. Its name comes from the fact that during the الصلاة when the revelation came, the congregation turned mid-الصلاة from facing Jerusalem to facing مكة.
Visiting is not a required act of worship but is a meaningful experience connecting الحجاج to a pivotal moment in Islamic تاريخ. Most organized ziyarah tours include this مسجد alongside Uhud, Quba, and the Seven المسجدs area. The مسجد is open for daily الصلوات and visitation.
