Summer الحرارة makes outdoor rituals demanding, winter cold affects مزدلفة nights, and rain can disrupt الطواف but is considered a blessing.
During summer الحج, outdoor rituals like standing at عرفة for hours, overnight at مزدلفة, and the منى stay become physically grueling. The stoning of الجمرات in dense crowds is particularly challenging in extreme الحرارة. Authorities have installed misting systems but personal الحرارة management remains essential.
Winter transforms the experience. الطواف and السعي become comfortable, but the overnight مزدلفة stay can be surprisingly cold at 10 to 15 degrees. Bring warm layers and a blanket. منى tents are unheated.
Rain is infrequent but impactful. The Mataf can become slippery, and الطواف may be suspended. Flash flooding has affected منى historically. However, rain during الحج, especially at عرفة, is considered a great blessing.
