الطواف Dua(دعاء الطواف) Supplications made during the circumambulation of the الكعبة. While there are no mandatory prescribed الأدعية for each specific circuit, certain الأدعية are authentically narrated for specific locations during الطواف.
دعاء الطواف
A common misconception is that specific الأدعية must be recited for each of the seven circuits of الطواف. In reality, scholars across all four schools agree that the الحاج is free to make any دعاء, recite القرآن, or engage in dhikr during الطواف. The only specific دعاء أُسس from the السنة for a particular location during الطواف is the الدعاء between Rukn Yamani (Yemeni Corner) and Hajar al-Aswad (الحجر الأسود): 'Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina adhab an-nar.' At the Hajar al-Aswad, the الحاج says 'Bismillah, Allahu Akbar' when making istilam (touching or gesturing toward the الحجر الأسود). Books that list specific الأدعية for each round are generally compiled from scholars' personal recommendations, not from أُسس السنة. Pilgrims should feel free to make heartfelt personal دعاء in any language during الطواف.
