الطواف al-Wida (farewell الطواف) is واجب (واجب) عند جمهور العلماء and must be performed as the last act before leaving مكة after الحج. It consists of 7 circuits without raml or idtiba. Menstruating and post-partum women are exempted from الطواف al-Wida and incur no penalty.
Before performing الطواف al-Wida, ensure all other الحج obligations are complete: stoning on all required days, الطواف al-Ifadah, السعي, and any remaining rituals. This الطواف should be the very last thing you do in مكة before departing.
Perform الوضوء and enter المسجد الحرام with the intention of performing الطواف al-Wida. You are in regular clothing (not الإحرام) for this الطواف.
Complete seven circuits around the الكعبة starting from the الحجر الأسود, walking counterclockwise with the الكعبة on your left. Walk at a normal pace — no raml or idtiba. Make heartfelt دعاء, as this is your farewell to the House of Allah.
These are the most frequent errors pilgrims make during this stage of Hajj.

After completing the seven circuits, pray two ركعة behind مقام إبراهيم or anywhere in the مسجد. Then drink زمزم water with دعاء. Make a sincere دعاء that Allah grants you the opportunity to return.
Before leaving, take a moment to face the الكعبة and make a final heartfelt دعاء. Ask Allah to accept your الحج, grant you return visits, and maintain the spiritual transformation you experienced.
Leave المسجد الحرام and proceed directly to your transportation. The farewell الطواف should be the last thing you do — no shopping, meals at restaurants, or extended stays after it. Brief necessary stops (bathroom, collecting luggage) do not invalidate the farewell الطواف.
