Masjid al-Ji'ranah is located about 24 km northeast of مكة. It serves as a الميقات for those in مكة who wish to perform العمرة, offering an alternative to Taneem.
Ji'ranah is where النبي Muhammad (PBUH) camped after the Battle of Hunayn in 8 AH to distribute the war spoils. After completing this task, he entered الإحرام from this location for العمرة, arriving in مكة at night, performing العمرة, and returning to Ji'ranah before dawn. This makes it a سنة location for entering الإحرام. The مسجد has been renovated and expanded by the Saudi government.

The مسجد has الصلاة facilities and washrooms. There are fewer shops and services compared to Taneem, so it is advisable to prepare الإحرام clothing in advance. Some الحجاج prefer this location because of its direct prophetic connection.
