Yalamlam (also known as As-Sa'diah) is the الميقات for الحجاج coming from Yemen and the southern direction. By extension, الحجاج from the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and East Africa who travel by sea or arrive from the south also use this الميقات. It is located about 120 km south of مكة in the Tihama coastal region.
Yalamlam was designated by النبي Muhammad (PBUH) as the الميقات for the people of Yemen. It is named after a mountain in the Tihama region south of مكة. The modern الميقات facility is at the town of As-Sa'diah. Historically, الحجاج from Yemen, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia who traveled by land or sea from the south would pass through this الميقات. Today, most الحجاج from these regions fly into Jeddah and enter الإحرام on the airplane, but those traveling by land still use this الميقات point.
Yalamlam is one of the five الميقات points designated by النبي (PBUH). It serves الحجاج from the southernmost approaches to مكة, including the historically significant route from Yemen. The people of Yemen were praised by النبي (PBUH) for their soft hearts and wisdom, and this الميقات has welcomed their الحاج caravans for over 14 centuries.
Yalamlam / As-Sa'diah is on the highway from Yemen to مكة, about 120 km south of the holy city. The facility includes a مسجد and basic amenities for entering الإحرام. Most الحجاج from the south today fly into Jeddah and enter الإحرام on the airplane as they cross the الميقات line. If traveling by road from Yemen or the southern Saudi regions, your bus or car will stop here. The facility is less developed than the المدينة الميقات but adequate for the purpose. Plan to have your الإحرام clothing ready before arriving.
