Chinese jamaah haji register through the Islamic Association of China (IAC) and their respective provincial Islamic associations. The State Administration for Religious Affairs coordinates Haji organization at the national level. Applicants must submit a valid Chinese passport, medical fitness certificate, meningitis vaccination, and passport photographs. Provincial Islamic associations collect applications and forward them to the IAC. The IAC coordinates visa processing with the Saudi Embassy in Beijing. The process is entirely managed through official channels.
The Islamic Association of China (IAC) manages all Haji operations through provincial Islamic associations. Private Haji operators are not authorized to organize independently. The IAC arranges charter flights, accommodation, and ground transportation. Provincial associations in Ningxia, Gansu, Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Yunnan coordinate local registration. All arrangements go through official government and IAC channels.
China's Muslim population (~25 million) includes the Hui, Uyghur, Kazakh, Dongxiang, Salar, and other ethnic groups. The Hui community is the largest participant in Haji, primarily from Ningxia, Gansu, Qinghai, and Yunnan provinces. Mandarin Chinese-speaking guides are available in Arab Saudi for Chinese delegations. The Chinese yuan should be exchanged through authorized channels. Arabic language preparation is sunnah. Chinese Muslim cuisine (qingzhen) differs significantly from Saudi food. The IAC provides comprehensive pre-departure orientation including health checks. Many Chinese Muslims follow the Hanafi madhab.
