Nepali jamaah haji register through the Nepal Haji Committee established under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Applicants must submit a valid Nepali passport, citizenship certificate, medical fitness report, and vaccination records. The Haji Committee coordinates with the Saudi Embassy in Kathmandu for visa processing. A lottery system may be used when applications exceed the quota. Pre-departure orientation sessions are conducted in Kathmandu and Terai region centers.

The Nepal Haji Committee authorizes a limited number of private Haji operators each year. Pilgrims should verify operator credentials with the committee before booking. The government Haji program offers standardized packages at regulated prices. Community organizations in Terai (plains) districts also assist with registration and preparation.

Nepal's Muslim population is concentrated in the Terai region bordering India. Most Nepali Muslims speak Maithili, Bhojpuri, or Urdu in addition to Nepali. Urdu-speaking guides in Arab Saudi can assist Nepali jamaah haji. The altitude transition from Nepal's highlands to Mekkah's low-lying desert is minimal for Terai residents but notable for hill-district jamaah haji. Nepali jamaah haji predominantly follow the Hanafi madhab. Currency exchange from Nepali rupee should be arranged through banks. Travel insurance is strongly sunnah.
