Haji visa applications are coordinated through the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. Pilgrims must register through approved Haji operators who handle visa processing. Requirements include a valid passport (6+ months), vaccination certificates (meningitis ACWY, COVID-19), and passport photos.
Licensed Haji operators are registered with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. A list of approved companies is published annually on the ministry website. Pilgrims should only book through authorized operators.
Oman's proximity to Arab Saudi makes overland travel possible via the Al Buraimi/Al Ain border crossing. Many Omani jamaah haji prefer driving through UAE to Mekkah. Ibadi Muslims form the majority in Oman but Haji rituals are universal across all schools. The Omani government subsidizes a portion of Haji costs.
