بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered the bathroom, he would say: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith.'
The doa when entering the bathroom is: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith' — O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female evil beings (devils). Enter with the left foot and say 'Bismillah' before doa ini for complete protection.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith.
Meaning: In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female evil beings (devils).
Source: Sahih al-Bukhari #6322The bathroom is considered a place where evil beings (shayatin) gather. By reciting doa ini, the believer seeks Allah's protection before entering. The addition of 'Bismillah' serves as a veil between the person and the jinn. Nabi (shallallahu alaihi wa sallam) never entered the bathroom without this doa.
