Arrive 2-3 hours early for Friday shalat at Masjidil Haram, expect hundreds of thousands of worshippers, and note that tawaf is suspended during shalat.
Attending Jumu'ah at Masjidil Haram is awe-inspiring. The congregation routinely numbers in the hundreds of thousands. Every shalat here is multiplied by 100,000.
To secure a spot inside the air-conditioned halls, arrive 2 to 3 hours before the Adhan. During Haji season, arrive even earlier. The khutbah is in Arabic and lasts 20 to 30 minutes, with translation available through the Haramain app.
Logistics: tawaf is suspended from the Adhan until after shalat concludes. Major roads close 1 to 2 hours before shalat. Bring water and a small shalat rug if expecting to pray in overflow areas. After shalat, expect 30 to 60 minutes of congestion.
