Haji Mabroor means a righteous, accepted Haji — performed with sincerity, halal funds, proper ritual observance, and avoidance of sin, with its only reward being Paradise.
Haji Mabroor (حج مبرور) comes from the Arabic root 'birr' meaning righteousness and goodness. It refers to a ibadah haji that is sincerely performed, properly executed, and accepted by Allah. Nabi Muhammad (shallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: 'An accepted Haji (Haji Mabroor) has no reward except Paradise' (agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim), highlighting its immense spiritual significance.
Scholars identify several conditions for Haji Mabroor: the intention must be purely for Allah's sake (ikhlas), the money used must be from halal (lawful) earnings, the jamaah haji must avoid obscenity, sinful speech, and quarreling during Haji, all rituals must be performed correctly following the Sunnah, and the jamaah haji should return home in a better spiritual state than they departed. Imam al-Nawawi noted that Haji Mabroor is one that has no sin mixed into it, while Imam al-Hasan al-Basri said it is recognized by the jamaah haji returning ascetic toward this world and desirous of the Hereafter.
