However, most jamaah haji spend the majority of waking hours inside the Haram, not in their room. You will be sleeping during most room time. The money saved could fund additional Umrahs, charity, or other trip upgrades.
A compromise: book a Clock Tower room for the first or last two nights while staying at a moderately priced nearby hotel for the remainder. This gives the experience without full financial commitment. If budget is not constraining, the view is spectacular.
