Prioritize the five daily shalat on time, add the 12 sunnah rawatib shalat, incorporate tahajjud gradually, and pray in congregation whenever possible — consistency matters most.
The spiritual high of Haji naturally fades as you return to daily life, making it crucial to establish a sustainable shalat routine immediately upon returning. Start with the non-negotiable foundation: the five daily wajib shalat performed on time. If you were not consistent before Haji, this is the most important change to lock in. Nabi (shallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said shalat is the first thing a person will be asked about on the Day of Judgment.
Build gradually by adding the 12 regular sunnah shalat (rawatib): 2 before Fajr, 4 before and 2 after Dhuhr, 2 after Maghrib, and 2 after Isha. Then incorporate tahajjud (night shalat) even if it is just two rakaat before Fajr. Maintain the habit of doa after each wajib shalat. Pray in congregation at the masjid when possible, as it carries 27 times the reward. The key is consistency over intensity — a small amount of worship done regularly is more beloved to Allah than occasional bursts of intense worship that cannot be maintained.
