Masjid al-Qiblatayn: The Masjid of Two Qiblas Masjid al-Qiblatayn marks where Al-Al-Quranic revelation changed the shalat direction from Jerusalem to Mekkah, making it historically significant.
Masjid al-Qiblatayn is one of the most historically significant masjids in Madinah. It is traditionally identified as the location where Al-Al-Quranic revelation commanding the change of the qibla from Jerusalem to the Kabah was received during a congregational shalat. The relevant verse states: 'Turn your face towards the Sacred Masjid.'
The masjid is terletak di the northwestern part of Madinah, about 4 kilometers from Nabi's Masjid. Its name comes from the fact that during the shalat when the revelation came, the congregation turned mid-shalat from facing Jerusalem to facing Mekkah.
Visiting is not a required act of worship but is a meaningful experience connecting jamaah haji to a pivotal moment in Islamic history. Most organized ziyarah tours include this masjid alongside Uhud, Quba, and the Seven Masjids area. The masjid is open for daily shalat and visitation.
