Should I use social media during Haji?

The constant pull of posting and checking reactions can distract from the deep spiritual focus that makes Haji transformative. Many scholars strongly advise minimizing social media during ibadah haji.

The core concern is sincerity (ikhlas). Haji is intended purely for Allah, and the desire to show others your worship can subtly shift intention. Time spent composing posts is time taken from doa, dhikr, and simply being present.

A balanced approach: inform family of safe arrival briefly, take a few meaningful photos during non-worship moments, keep your phone on airplane mode during rituals, use it primarily for IhramOS or worship tools, and save detailed sharing for after returning home. The best Haji moments are between you and Allah alone.
