مسجد قباء
Masjid Quba holds the distinction of being the very first masjid in Islamic history. When Nabi Muhammad (shallallahu alaihi wa sallam) migrated from Mekkah to Madinah in 622 CE, he stopped first at the village of Quba, where he laid the foundation of this masjid. Allah mentions it in Al-Al-Quran: 'A masjid founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in' (9:108), which many scholars interpret as referring to Masjid Quba. Nabi used to visit Masjid Quba every Saturday, sometimes walking and sometimes riding. He said: 'Whoever makes wudhu at home then comes to Masjid Quba and prays there, he will have a reward like that of Umrah' (Sunan an-Nasa'i). The masjid has been expanded significantly over the centuries and now covers a large area with modern facilities. Visiting Masjid Quba is highly sunnah for jamaah haji in Madinah and is typically included in the Madinah ziyarah program.
From Arabic مسجد (masjid, 'place of prostration/masjid') and قباء (Quba), the name of the village south of Madinah where the masjid was built. Quba is believed to derive from a well in the area.
