مسجد عائشة / التنعيم
Masjid Aisha at Taneem is the nearest miqat point to Mekkah, located about 7.5 km from Masjidil Haram. It is the place where people already in Mekkah go to enter ihram for a new Umrah. Named after Aisha (RA), who entered ihram here on Nabi's instruction. The masjid has facilities for ablution and changing.
Masjid Aisha is named after Aisha bint Abu Bakr (RA), the wife of Nabi (PBUH). During the Farewell Haji, she was unable to perform Umrah due to her menstrual cycle. After completing Haji, Nabi (PBUH) instructed her brother Abdur-Rahman to take her to Taneem to enter ihram for Umrah. The masjid has been rebuilt and expanded multiple times, with the current modern structure accommodating thousands of jamaah haji daily.
Taneem is the closest miqat boundary to Mekkah, making it the most convenient point for those already in the city to assume ihram for Umrah. Its connection to Aisha (RA) gives it special significance. It is the most commonly used miqat for additional Umrahs during a jamaah haji's stay.
Masjid Aisha is easily accessible by taxi or bus from anywhere in Mekkah, with the ride taking about 15-20 minutes. The masjid is open 24 hours and has separate facilities for men and women, including washrooms, shalat halls, and areas to change into ihram garments. Ihram clothing is available for purchase from shops near the masjid. Many jamaah haji visit multiple times during their stay to perform additional Umrahs. Taxis are readily available outside for the return trip to Masjidil Haram.
