الركن اليماني
The Yemeni Corner (Rukn al-Yamani) is the southwestern corner of the Kabah, facing Yemen. It is sunnah to touch it with the right hand during tawaf without kissing it. Between the Yemeni Corner and the Hajar Aswad, jamaah haji recite the doa: 'Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina adhab an-nar.'
The Yemeni Corner is one of the four corners of the Kabah, named because it faces the direction of Yemen. It rests on the original foundations laid by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), unlike some other parts of the Kabah which were modified over time. Nabi Muhammad (PBUH) used to touch this corner during tawaf, establishing it as a sunnah practice. Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) was particularly known for never missing touching both the Yemeni Corner and the Hajar Aswad.
The Yemeni Corner stands on the original Ibrahimic foundations of the Kabah. Touching it is an established sunnah. The stretch between the Yemeni Corner and the Hajar Aswad is a particularly blessed segment of tawaf, where a specific Al-Quranic doa is sunnah.
During tawaf, try to touch the Yemeni Corner with your right hand as you pass. Do not kiss it or say 'Allahu Akbar' when touching it (this is specific to the Hajar Aswad). If the crowd prevents you from reaching it, continue without pointing toward it (unlike the Hajar Aswad where pointing is sunnah). Between this corner and the Hajar Aswad, recite the sunnah doa from Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201.
