During Haji season, hotel laundry services can become overwhelmed with demand, leading to longer turnaround times and occasional lost items. It is advisable to submit laundry early in your stay and avoid submitting your only set of clean clothes with no backup. Always count your items before submitting and check them upon return.

Small laundry and pressing shops are common in the commercial areas surrounding both Masjidil Haram and Masjid Nabawi. For ihram garments specifically, many shops near the Haram specialize in washing, bleaching, and ironing the two white cloths. Many experienced jamaah haji minimize laundry needs by packing quick-dry, moisture-wicking fabrics that can be hand-washed in the hotel bathroom and dried overnight. Synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, and merino wool blends dry much faster than cotton. Pack a small tube of travel laundry detergent or soap sheets for hand-washing. After washing, wring garments thoroughly in a towel, then hang them in the bathroom or near the room's air conditioning unit, which accelerates drying.
