**Tip 14: Do Not Touch the Kabe or Push Toward the Hacer-ul Esved.** Many first-time hacilar believe they must physically touch or kiss the Hajar al-Aswad (Hacer-ul Esved) for their tavaf to be valid. This is incorrect. Pointing toward the Hacer-ul Esved from a distance and saying "Bismillahi Allahu Akbar" at the start of each circuit is perfectly sufficient.
