Nigerian hacilar register through the National Hac Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) or their respective state Hac boards. Registration is conducted through state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards. NAHCON accredits private Hac tour operators alongside state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards. The list of approved operators is published on NAHCON's website before each Hac season. Pilgrims can choose between state board packages and private operator packages. States in northern Nigeria (Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Katsina) typically have the largest contingents. All operators must meet NAHCON's minimum service standards.

Nigeria has one of the largest Muslim populations in Africa and one of the biggest Hac quotas globally. NAHCON provides comprehensive pre-departure orientation including health screenings. Hausa, Yoruba, and English-speaking guides are available in Saudi Arabia. Nigerian naira should be exchanged through authorized Bureau de Change operators. The hot and humid climate of Nigeria provides partial preparation for Mekke's heat. Nigerian hacilar should ensure yellow fever vaccination is current. Medical teams from Nigeria accompany each state delegation. Many Nigerian Muslims follow the Maliki madhab.
