الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) woke up from sleep, he would say: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur.'
The dua upon waking up is: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur' — meaning 'All praise is for Allah Who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.' It is the first words a Muslim says each morning.

Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur.
Meaning: All praise is for Allah Who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
Source: Sahih al-Bukhari #6312This dua begins the day with gratitude, recognizing that waking up is a gift from Allah. Each morning is a new opportunity granted by Allah. The mention of 'resurrection' (nushur) reminds the believer of the Day of Judgment, starting the day with awareness of the Hereafter.
