How does the IhramOS tavaf counter work and how accurate is it?

The IhramOS tavaf counter uses a sensor fusion approach combining your device's GPS signal with its built-in accelerometer to detect and count your circuits around the Kabe. The system establishes the starting point at the Hacer-ul Esved corner and monitors your movement pattern to identify each completed circuit. When a full circuit is detected, the counter increments automatically and provides a gentle vibration notification.

The counter works on multiple floors of the Haram, including the ground level, first floor, and rooftop tavaf areas. Since GPS signals can be partially obstructed inside the Haram structure, the accelerometer data helps maintain accuracy by detecting your walking pattern and direction of movement.
