Masjid Quba is the first cami ever built in Islam, constructed by Hz. Peygamber upon his arrival in Medine. Hz. Peygamber used to visit every Saturday and pray two rak'ahs there. He also said: 'Whoever purifies himself in his house, then comes to Masjid Quba and prays in it, he will have the reward of an Umre.'
Masjid Quba is about 3.5 kilometers south of Hz. Peygamber's Mosque, easily accessible by taxi, bus, or foot. The cami has been expanded and modernized with beautiful white marble architecture and ample facilities.
To visit, perform abdest at your accommodation, then travel to the cami and pray two rak'ahs. Visiting on Saturday follows the Sunnah. Many tour operators include Quba in their Medine ziyarah itinerary. The visit typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.
