Summer heat makes outdoor rituals demanding, winter cold affects Muzdelife nights, and rain can disrupt tavaf but is considered a blessing.
During summer Hac, outdoor rituals like standing at Arafat for hours, overnight at Muzdelife, and the Mina stay become physically grueling. The stoning of Cemerat in dense crowds is particularly challenging in extreme heat. Authorities have installed misting systems but personal heat management remains essential.
Winter transforms the experience. Tavaf and sa'i become comfortable, but the overnight Muzdelife stay can be surprisingly cold at 10 to 15 degrees. Bring warm layers and a blanket. Mina tents are unheated.
Rain is infrequent but impactful. The Mataf can become slippery, and tavaf may be suspended. Flash flooding has affected Mina historically. However, rain during Hac, especially at Arafat, is considered a great blessing.
