الركن اليماني
The Yemeni Corner (Rukn al-Yamani) is the southwestern corner of the Kabe, facing Yemen. It is sunnah to touch it with the right hand during tavaf without kissing it. Between the Yemeni Corner and the Hacer-ul Esved, hacilar recite the dua: 'Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina adhab an-nar.'
The Yemeni Corner is one of the four corners of the Kabe, named because it faces the direction of Yemen. It rests on the original foundations laid by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), unlike some other parts of the Kabe which were modified over time. Hz. Peygamber Muhammad (PBUH) used to touch this corner during tavaf, establishing it as a sunnah practice. Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) was particularly known for never missing touching both the Yemeni Corner and the Hacer-ul Esved.
The Yemeni Corner stands on the original Ibrahimic foundations of the Kabe. Touching it is an established sunnah. The stretch between the Yemeni Corner and the Hacer-ul Esved is a particularly blessed segment of tavaf, where a specific Kur'anic dua is sunnet.
During tavaf, try to touch the Yemeni Corner with your right hand as you pass. Do not kiss it or say 'Allahu Akbar' when touching it (this is specific to the Hacer-ul Esved). If the crowd prevents you from reaching it, continue without pointing toward it (unlike the Hacer-ul Esved where pointing is sunnah). Between this corner and the Hacer-ul Esved, recite the sunnet dua from Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201.
