Is it permissible to fund Hac with money from interest (riba)?

It is not permissible to intentionally earn interest and then use it for Hac. Interest (riba) is among the most severely prohibited matters in Islam. Allah says: 'Allah has permitted trade and haram interest' (Al-Baqarah 2:275). However, if a person has already received interest without seeking it (such as from a conventional bank account), scholars advise donating it to the poor rather than using it for personal benefit. Sheikh Ibn Baz stated: 'Hac must be funded from lawful (halal) earnings. Hz. Peygamber (sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem) said: Allah is pure and accepts only what is pure (Sahih Muslim 1015).'
