Peygamber (sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem) said: 'The muhrim (one in ihram) shall not marry, nor give in marriage, nor propose marriage' (Sahih Muslim 1409). Sheikh Ibn Baz stated: 'Marriage during ihram is invalid alimlerin cogunluguna gore, and the contract must be repeated after leaving the state of ihram' (Fatawa Ibn Baz, vol. 16). If a marriage contract is performed during ihram, the majority hold that it is invalid and must be redone. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen stated: 'Any marriage contract concluded while one or both parties are in ihram is void and must be renewed after tahallul.'
