Mali follows the Maliki school of jurisprudence. French and Bambara are the primary languages — حجاج should prepare for Arabic-language environments. Mali has a strong tradition of communal حج savings groups (tontines) to fund حج. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travelers.
