Covering the Head (Men)(تغطية الرأس للرجال) The احرام prohibition preventing male حجاج from covering their heads with fitted garments or items that rest on the head. This restriction applies only to men and is one of the fundamental احرام prohibitions.
تغطية الرأس للرجال
نبی کریم Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) instructed that a man who dies in احرام should not have his head covered during the funeral preparation, establishing the importance of the uncovered head during احرام. Men may not wear caps, turbans, helmets, headbands, or any item that sits on or wraps around the head. However, scholars permit the use of umbrellas for shade, carrying items on the head (such as luggage), and the natural shade from buildings or vehicles. If a man unintentionally covers his head and removes it immediately upon remembering, no penalty applies. Intentional covering requires fidyah. Women follow the opposite rule — they should cover their hair but not their faces (according to the majority view).
From Arabic تغطية (taghTiyah, 'covering') and الرأس (ar-ra's, 'the head'). The prohibition is derived from Prophetic hadith regarding احرام dress code.
