Perfume in احرام(الطيب في الإحرام) The prohibition of using perfume, fragrance, cologne, or any scented substance while in the state of احرام. This is one of the key restrictions that apply to both male and female حجاج during حج and عمرہ.
الطيب في الإحرام
The prohibition of perfume during احرام is based on the hadith of نبی کریم Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) who instructed حجاج not to apply perfume after entering احرام. This restriction covers all forms of fragrance including cologne, scented oils, perfumed soap, scented lotions, and incense. However, it is sunnah to apply perfume to the body (not the احرام garments) before making the intention for احرام. If a حاجی accidentally uses perfume, they should wash it off immediately. Intentional use requires fidyah — which involves fasting three days, feeding six poor people, or sacrificing a sheep, according to the Hanbali and other schools. Unscented hygiene products are permitted.
