طواف al-Wida (farewell طواف) is wajib (واجب) جمہور علماء کے مطابق and must be performed as the last act before leaving مکہ مکرمہ after حج. It consists of 7 circuits without raml or idtiba. Menstruating and post-partum women are exempted from طواف al-Wida and incur no penalty.
Before performing طواف al-Wida, ensure all other حج obligations are complete: stoning on all required days, طواف al-Ifadah, سعی, and any remaining rituals. This طواف should be the very last thing you do in مکہ مکرمہ before departing.
Perform وضو and enter مسجد الحرام with the intention of performing طواف al-Wida. You are in regular clothing (not احرام) for this طواف.
Complete seven circuits around the کعبۃ اللہ starting from the حجر اسود, walking counterclockwise with the کعبۃ اللہ on your left. Walk at a normal pace — no raml or idtiba. Make heartfelt دعا, as this is your farewell to the House of Allah.
These are the most frequent errors pilgrims make during this stage of Hajj.

After completing the seven circuits, pray two rak'at behind مقام ابراہیم or anywhere in the مسجد. Then drink زمزم water with دعا. Make a sincere دعا that Allah grants you the opportunity to return.
Before leaving, take a moment to face the کعبۃ اللہ and make a final heartfelt دعا. Ask Allah to accept your حج, grant you return visits, and maintain the spiritual transformation you experienced.
Leave مسجد الحرام and proceed directly to your transportation. The farewell طواف should be the last thing you do — no shopping, meals at restaurants, or extended stays after it. Brief necessary stops (bathroom, collecting luggage) do not invalidate the farewell طواف.
