مسجد قباء
Masjid Quba is the first مسجد built in Islam, established by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) upon his arrival in مدینہ منورہ during the Hijrah. نبی کریم said that praying two rak'ahs in Masjid Quba is equivalent to the reward of an عمرہ. It is located about 3.5 km south of مسجد نبوی and has been massively expanded recently.
Masjid Quba was the first مسجد built in Islam. When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) arrived in Quba during the Hijrah from مکہ مکرمہ to مدینہ منورہ in 622 CE, he stayed for several days and laid the foundation of this مسجد. The قرآن refers to it in Surah At-Tawbah (9:108) as 'a مسجد founded on righteousness from the first day.' نبی کریم used to visit it every Saturday, sometimes walking, sometimes riding. The مسجد has undergone numerous expansions, with a recent massive expansion project significantly increasing its capacity.
Masjid Quba holds the distinction of being the first مسجد in Islam, founded on piety from its first day as mentioned in قرآن مجید. The authentic hadith promising the reward of عمرہ for praying two rak'ahs here makes it one of the most rewarding optional visits in مدینہ منورہ.
Masjid Quba is about 3.5 km south of مسجد نبوی, easily reached by taxi, bus, or even walking. The مسجد is open for all five daily نمازs. The sunnah is to perform وضو at home and then pray two rak'ahs at Masjid Quba, earning the reward of an عمرہ. The recent expansion has made the مسجد much larger, with beautiful architecture, air conditioning, and modern facilities. Saturday visits follow the prophetic sunnah. The area around the مسجد has shops and restaurants.
