These are basic manual wheelchairs suitable for use within the مسجد complex. Private wheelchair rental services operate throughout the Haram area, offering both manual and motorized wheelchairs along with a dedicated pusher who guides the حاجی through طواف and sa'i. These services cost approximately 100 to 300 SAR per session depending on the duration, wheelchair type, and whether a pusher is included. For longer stays, wheelchair rentals by the day or week are available from medical supply shops in مکہ مکرمہ at rates of 50 to 100 SAR per day. Pilgrims who use their own wheelchairs should ensure they are compact enough for the crowded مسجد environment — standard-width chairs work well, but oversized chairs can be difficult to maneuver.

All حج and عمرہ rituals can be validly performed from a wheelchair. Islamic scholars unanimously agree that a حاجی who is unable to walk may perform طواف in a wheelchair, carried by others, or using any mobility aid. The intention and spiritual devotion are what matter, not the mode of movement. For طواف, wheelchair users typically start near the حجر اسود corner and join the flow of circumambulation. A pusher should be instructed to maintain a steady pace and stay in the wheelchair lane where available. For sa'i, wheelchair pushers navigate the corridor between Safa and Marwa, with helpers assisting the حاجی to face the کعبۃ اللہ direction at each end. At عرفات, wheelchair users can fulfill the standing requirement while seated in their chair — the obligation is presence in عرفات, not physical standing. For the stoning of the jamarat, wheelchair users can delegate the stoning to a companion if the crowds make it unsafe, which is the established scholarly position for those with valid excuses.

Pilgrims requiring wheelchair access should communicate their needs to their حج or عمرہ operator well before departure, as accommodation, transportation, and tent assignments at منیٰ can be arranged to accommodate mobility needs. Hotels closest to the Haram minimize the distance that must be traveled, and wheelchair-accessible rooms should be specifically requested and confirmed. When booking, ask about elevator availability, ramp access, and bathroom accessibility. Ground-floor hotel rooms are often preferable if elevator reliability is uncertain. At منیٰ, request placement in tents near the edge of the camp for easier access to washroom facilities and the bus boarding area. Some حج operators specialize in serving elderly and disabled حجاج, offering enhanced support services including dedicated assistants, medical staff, and adapted transportation.
