Masjid al-Qiblatayn: The Mosque of Two Qiblas Masjid al-Qiblatayn marks where আল-কুরআনic revelation changed the সালাত direction from Jerusalem to মক্কা মুকাররমা, making it historically significant.
Masjid al-Qiblatayn is one of the most historically significant মসজিদs in মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা. It is traditionally identified as the location where আল-কুরআনic revelation commanding the change of the qibla from Jerusalem to the কাবা শরীফ was received during a congregational সালাত. The relevant verse states: 'Turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque.'
The মসজিদ is located in the northwestern part of মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা, about 4 kilometers from নবী করীম's Mosque. Its name comes from the fact that during the সালাত when the revelation came, the congregation turned mid-সালাত from facing Jerusalem to facing মক্কা মুকাররমা.
Visiting is not a required act of worship but is a meaningful experience connecting হাজীগণ to a pivotal moment in Islamic history. Most organized ziyarah tours include this মসজিদ alongside Uhud, Quba, and the Seven Mosques area. The মসজিদ is open for daily সালাতs and visitation.
