Smoking is banned inside both holy মসজিদs and camps, with fines up to SAR 200. Most scholars rule smoking as haram, especially during ইহরাম.
Smoking is completely prohibited inside and around both মসজিদুল হারাম and Masjid al-Nabawi, including courtyards and surrounding pedestrian areas. It is also banned in মিনা tents, আরাফাত encampments, মুযদালিফা, and the জামারাত area. Fines can reach SAR 200.
From a religious perspective, the majority of contemporary scholars rule smoking as haram due to its clear harm to health. During ইহরাম, smoking is strongly discouraged even by those who permit it otherwise.
Many scholars encourage using হজ্জ as motivation to quit permanently. Consider nicotine patches or gum (permitted during ইহরাম) to manage cravings. Pharmacies in মক্কা মুকাররমা and মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা stock cessation aids.
