The Standing at আরাফাত (Wuquf) on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah is THE central pillar of হজ্জ. নবী করীম (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) said: 'হজ্জ is আরাফাত.' A হাজী who misses আরাফাত has missed হজ্জ entirely. The wuquf begins after Dhuhr and extends until Fajr of the 10th. Being present anywhere within the boundaries of আরাফাত fulfills the obligation. The afternoon is devoted to intense dua.
On the morning of the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, depart from মিনা after sunrise and travel to the plain of আরাফাত, approximately 14 km from মিনা. Continue reciting the তালবিয়াহ. Upon arrival, locate your assigned tent.
When the sun passes its zenith (Dhuhr time), pray Dhuhr (2 rak'at) and Asr (2 rak'at) combined at the time of Dhuhr, with one adhan and two iqamah calls. This is agreed upon by all four schools, including the Hanafi school.
These are the most frequent errors pilgrims make during this stage of Hajj.

After praying, devote yourself entirely to dua and দোয়া until sunset. This is the supreme moment of হজ্জ. নবী করীম said: 'The best dua is on the Day of আরাফাত, and the best thing I and the prophets before me said is: La ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay'in qadir.' Use your prepared dua list, make dua in any language, and pour your heart out to Allah.
While dua is the primary worship, vary your activities to maintain focus: alternate between dua, কুরআন recitation, dhikr, istighfar, salawat upon নবী করীম, and silent contemplation. Drink water regularly. Take brief rest breaks if needed.
Stay at আরাফাত until after sunset. Do NOT leave before sunset — নবী করীম remained at আরাফাত until the sun had fully set. Intensify your dua in the final hour before Maghrib, as this is considered the peak of acceptance.
After sunset, depart calmly for মুযদালিফা. Do NOT pray Maghrib at আরাফাত — the sunnah is to delay Maghrib and combine it with Isha at মুযদালিফা. Walk or ride with dignity and tranquility. Continue reciting the তালবিয়াহ.
