ذو الحليفة / أبيار علي
Dhul Hulayfah, also known as Abyar Ali, is the miqat point for হাজীগণ traveling from মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা to মক্কা মুকাররমা. Located about 9 km southwest of মসজিদে নববী, it is the farthest miqat from মক্কা মুকাররমা (approximately 450 km). নবী করীম Muhammad (PBUH) entered ইহরাম from this location. A large modern মসজিদ with ইহরাম facilities serves millions of হাজীগণ annually.
Dhul Hulayfah is the miqat designated by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the people of মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা and those passing through মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা on their way to মক্কা মুকাররমা. নবী করীম himself entered ইহরাম from this location during his Farewell হজ্জ. The name Abyar Ali (Wells of Ali) comes from wells attributed to Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA). The site has been developed with a large modern মসজিদ (Masjid ash-Shajarah, 'Mosque of the Tree') named after a tree under which নবী করীম (PBUH) is said to have rested. The current complex accommodates tens of thousands of হাজীগণ.
Dhul Hulayfah is the most historically authenticated miqat, being the point from which নবী করীম (PBUH) entered ইহরাম for his only হজ্জ. It marks the spiritual transition from ordinary travel to the sacred state of ইহরাম. Passing this point without entering ইহরাম (if intending হজ্জ or উমরাহ) is not permitted.
Dhul Hulayfah is a major stop on the road from মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা to মক্কা মুকাররমা. Buses and cars stop here for হাজীগণ to enter ইহরাম. The complex includes a large মসজিদ, extensive washroom and shower facilities, separate changing areas for men and women, and shops selling ইহরাম garments and supplies. Perform গোসল (মুস্তাহাব), put on ইহরাম clothing, pray two rak'ahs, and make your niyyah (intention) for হজ্জ or উমরাহ. Then begin reciting the talbiyah. The facility operates 24/7 during হজ্জ and উমরাহ seasons. Plan your stop here if traveling by road from মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা.
