مسجد الجمعة
Masjid al-Jummah marks the location where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) performed the first Jummah (Friday) সালাত during his migration from মক্কা মুকাররমা to মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা. Located in the Ranuna valley between Quba and central মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা, নবী করীম stopped here when Friday সালাত time arrived during his journey from Quba to মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা, leading about 100 Muslims in সালাত.
After spending several days at Quba upon his arrival from মক্কা মুকাররমা, নবী করীম (PBUH) set out toward central মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা on a Friday. When the time for সালাত arrived, he was in the Ranuna valley in the area of Banu Salim ibn Awf. He stopped and led the first Friday সালাত in Islamic history, delivering a khutbah to about 100 companions. This established the institution of Jummah সালাত as a weekly congregational obligation. The মসজিদ built at this location commemorates that historic সালাত.
Masjid al-Jummah commemorates the establishment of Friday congregational সালাত, one of the most important weekly institutions in Islam. The first Jummah সালাত and khutbah represent the beginning of organized Muslim community life in মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা, a foundational moment in Islamic history.
Masjid al-Jummah is located along the road between Masjid Quba and মসজিদে নববী, making it easy to include in a Quba visit. The মসজিদ is relatively small but well-maintained. There are no specific rituals associated with visiting. It is a regular functioning মসজিদ where daily সালাতs are held. The historical significance makes it a worthwhile stop for those interested in seerah (prophetic biography). Some organized ziyarah tours include this মসজিদ in their itinerary.
