The Rawdah Sharif is the area in মসজিদে নববী between নবী করীম Muhammad's (PBUH) tomb and his minbar (pulpit). নবী করীম said: 'Between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.' It is identified by its distinctive green carpet, contrasting with the red carpet elsewhere in the মসজিদ.
The Rawdah is authenticated by the hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim where নবী করীম (PBUH) said: 'Between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit is upon my Hawd (basin in Paradise).' This area has been preserved through all expansions of the মসজিদ. The green carpet marking the Rawdah area was introduced to help হাজীগণ identify the boundaries. The area contains pillars of historical significance including the Pillar of Aisha and the Pillar of Repentance.
The Rawdah is one of the most blessed areas on earth, described by নবী করীম (PBUH) himself as a garden of Paradise. Praying here is considered immensely rewarding. It is one of the few places on earth explicitly connected to Paradise in authentic hadith.
Access to the Rawdah is managed through a reservation system via the Nusuk or Eatmarna app. Men and women have separate visiting times. The Rawdah is identifiable by its green carpet (the rest of the মসজিদ has red carpet). It is extremely popular and time slots fill quickly. When inside, pray two rak'ahs and make heartfelt dua. Time is limited, so prepare your duas in advance. The Rawdah is approximately 22 meters long and 15 meters wide. Follow instructions from মসজিদ staff and be patient with crowds.
