يلملم / السعدية
Yalamlam (also known as As-Sa'diah) is the miqat for হাজীগণ coming from Yemen and the southern direction. By extension, হাজীগণ from the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and East Africa who travel by sea or arrive from the south also use this miqat. It is located about 120 km south of মক্কা মুকাররমা in the Tihama coastal region.
Yalamlam was designated by নবী করীম Muhammad (PBUH) as the miqat for the people of Yemen. It is named after a mountain in the Tihama region south of মক্কা মুকাররমা. The modern miqat facility is at the town of As-Sa'diah. Historically, হাজীগণ from Yemen, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia who traveled by land or sea from the south would pass through this miqat. Today, most হাজীগণ from these regions fly into Jeddah and enter ইহরাম on the airplane, but those traveling by land still use this miqat point.
Yalamlam is one of the five miqat points designated by নবী করীম (PBUH). It serves হাজীগণ from the southernmost approaches to মক্কা মুকাররমা, including the historically significant route from Yemen. The people of Yemen were praised by নবী করীম (PBUH) for their soft hearts and wisdom, and this miqat has welcomed their হাজী caravans for over 14 centuries.
Yalamlam / As-Sa'diah is on the highway from Yemen to মক্কা মুকাররমা, about 120 km south of the holy city. The facility includes a মসজিদ and basic amenities for entering ইহরাম. Most হাজীগণ from the south today fly into Jeddah and enter ইহরাম on the airplane as they cross the miqat line. If traveling by road from Yemen or the southern Saudi regions, your bus or car will stop here. The facility is less developed than the মদীনা মুনাওয়ারা miqat but adequate for the purpose. Plan to have your ইহরাম clothing ready before arriving.
