It is not permissible to intentionally earn interest and then use it for হজ্জ. Interest (riba) is among the most severely prohibited matters in Islam. Allah says: 'Allah has permitted trade and হারাম interest' (Al-Baqarah 2:275). However, if a person has already received interest without seeking it (such as from a conventional bank account), scholars advise donating it to the poor rather than using it for personal benefit. Sheikh Ibn Baz stated: 'হজ্জ must be funded from lawful (halal) earnings. নবী করীম (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) said: Allah is pure and accepts only what is pure (Sahih Muslim 1015).'
