A woman in the state of nifas (post-partum bleeding) can perform all the rites of হজ্জ except তাওয়াফ around the কাবা শরীফ and সালাত. She enters ইহরাম, stands at আরাফাত, stays at মুযদালিফা, stones the জামারাত, and performs all other rites. She only delays her তাওয়াফ until her bleeding stops and she performs গোসল. This is based on the hadith of Aisha about Asma bint Umays who gave birth at Dhul Hulayfah during the Farewell হজ্জ: 'নবী করীম (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) commanded her to perform গোসল, enter ইহরাম, and do all the rites except তাওয়াফ around the House until she was pure' (Sahih Muslim 1209). Sheikh Ibn Baz stated: 'The ruling on nifas is the same as menstruation with regard to হজ্জ: she does everything except তাওয়াফ and সালাত in the মসজিদ' (Fatawa Ibn Baz, vol. 16).
