Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen stated: 'Raml is sunnah in the first three circuits of তাওয়াফ al-Qudum only. It is not prescribed in তাওয়াফ al-Ifadah or তাওয়াফ al-Wida.' Sheikh Ibn Baz stated: 'If unable to perform raml due to crowding, the হাজী is excused and should walk normally' (Fatawa Ibn Baz, vol. 16). Additionally, idtiba' (exposing the right shoulder) is done throughout all seven circuits of the same তাওয়াফ where raml is prescribed.
