Haji Ifrad(حَجّ الإِفْرَاد) Haji Ifrad (single/isolated Haji) is a type of ibadah haji where the jamaah haji performs Haji alone without combining it with Umrah. No wajib sacrifice is required, though voluntary sacrifice is sunnah.
حَجّ الإِفْرَاد
In Haji Ifrad, the jamaah haji enters Ihram at the Miqat with the intention of Haji only, saying 'Labbayk Allahumma Hajjan' (Here I am, O Allah, for Haji). They remain in Ihram and proceed to perform all the Haji rites: Tawaf al-Qudum (upon arrival, Sunnah), standing at Arafah, staying at Muzdalifah, stoning the Jamarat, Halq/Taqsir, Tawaf al-Ifadah, sa'i, and Tawaf al-Wida. Since the jamaah haji is performing Haji in isolation without combining Umrah, no Hady (thanksgiving sacrifice) is required, though offering a voluntary sacrifice is sunnah. The Shafi'i and Hanbali schools consider Ifrad to be the simplest type of Haji. It is commonly performed by residents of Mekkah and those living within the Miqat boundaries, as they can perform Umrah separately at any time throughout the year. Some scholars, particularly from the Hanafi and Maliki schools, consider Ifrad to be the most virtuous type because the jamaah haji dedicates separate journeys to Haji and Umrah. However, other scholars favor Tamattu based on Nabi's recommendation to his companions.
