رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.
The most well-known dua for tavaf is recited between Rukn Yamani and the Hacer-ul Esved: 'Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina adhaban-nar' (Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire). This is from Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201 and was regularly recited by Hz. Peygamber (sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem) during tavaf.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina adhaban-nar
Meaning: Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.
Source: Sunan Abu Dawud #0This comprehensive dua asks Allah for the best of both worlds — well-being, provision, and blessings in this life and salvation, Paradise, and closeness to Allah in the Hereafter. Hz. Peygamber (sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem) used to frequently recite bu dua, and Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that it was among the most common duas of Hz. Peygamber. Imam al-Nawawi noted that bu dua encompasses all goodness and wards off all evil. Shaykh Ibn Baz said that during tavaf, the haci should occupy themselves with dhikr, dua, and recitation of Kur'an-i Kerim, and bu dua is among the best to recite.
