باب الكعبة
The Door of the کعبۃ اللہ is one of the most revered features of the sacred house. Originally at ground level during the time of نبی کریم Ibrahim, it was raised by the Quraysh during their reconstruction of the کعبۃ اللہ before Islam to control access. The current door was commissioned by King Khalid ibn Abdulaziz in 1979, crafted from 280 kg of pure gold with قرآنic verses engraved upon it. The door measures approximately 3.06 meters high and 1.68 meters wide. The area between the door and the Hajar al-Aswad (حجر اسود) is known as the Multazam, a place where دعا is especially مستحب. The کعبۃ اللہ is opened twice a year for an interior cleaning ceremony, and on select occasions for heads of state and dignitaries.
